This is a list of the common questions asked by our valued customers.


Q: Which data center in Canada are you utilizing?

A: We are currently located in the Mountain Cable Data Centre just south of Toronto in Hamilton, Ontario.


Q: What bandwidth provider are you using?

A: We are currently utilizing a premium mix of Peer 1, All Stream and Atria Networks(multiple fibre connections including Hydro One Telecom) with TorIX peering.


Q: How long does it take to activate my order?

A: Currently we need 24 hours but with being congested at times orders may take up to 72 hours.


Q: Do you price match local competitors?

A: Absolutely as long as specifications of a server are similar we do not mind price matching however this up to the discretion of our company.


Q: Which control panels are available for a dedicated server from your company?

A: Currently we offer both Cpanel and Direct Admin.


Q: Do you host Windows based dedicated servers?

A: Absolutely please select it as an upgrade Operating System option when ordering.


Q: Are the servers fully managed?

A: Currently we only offer basic management and hardware maintenance support the rest is up to the customer to manage.


Q: What port speed are servers operating with?

A: All servers utilize 10 Mbps by default and 100 Mbps is available as an upgrade for a small monthly fee as outlined in the servers order form.


Q: Do you allow IRC related services to be hosted?

A: We allow IRC related services but as soon as they become a problem (such as attracting DDos attacks) we have the right to suspend your service immediately. Our service makes more sense for the causual IRC user.


Q: Why do the Windows servers cost more than the Linux servers?

A: These prices reflect the cost of licensing Windows.


Q: If I cancel early, do I get a refund?

A: No. Sorry. We do not pro-rate refunds.


Q: Do you handle domain registrations?

A: No, we currently do not handle domain registrations. If you wish to register a domain please visit http://www.godaddy.com and they can definitely handle your domain needs.


Q: What are the content restrictions of Carat Networks?

A: No underage or illegal adult material. No child pornography. No Email Marketing, Soliciting or SPAM. No Pirated Software, Warez or Cracks.


Q: Is there a minimum contract?

A: No. You are not committed to a minimum contract. You are welcome to pay by the month and have no further commitment. However, we do offer yearly contracts please contact us if you wish to set one up.


Q: How do I contact you?

Q: Can I move from one package to another?

A: Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade to another package at any time, just submit a support ticket and our sales staff will direct you from there.


Q: Do you accept international Orders?

A: Absolutely! If desired, we can host domain name extensions from any country.


Q: Which name servers should I use in resolv.conf?

A: You may use our resolvers 64.85.166.208 and 65.18.170.191.


Q: Do you charge late fees?

A: If a client does not pay their subscription by the due date, a $25.00 late fee may be applied to their account. All subscription payments are due on the 1st of every month.
